The MIH Media Lab at Stellenbosch University was founded with the purpose to promote research in “new media” technology in South Africa. In close partnership with an international industry partner, the MIH Media Lab aims to participate in research on next-generation technologies that will influence the ways in which humans interact with computers, the Web and other forms of electronic media.
Praekelt Foundation builds open source, scalable mobile technologies and solutions to improve the health and wellbeing of people living in poverty. Our programmes have reached over 50 million people across 15 countries in sub-Saharan Africa.
Praekelt Foundation's aim is to create the next generation of mobile services for the developing world by developing scalable, open source, mobile technologies that will allow a myriad of applications to be built and deployed.
Brightest Young Minds (BYM) is an initiative of young people passionate about exploring, demonstrating and implementing ideas and alternative solutions to the problems plaguing humanity. BYM’s mission is to channel the hearts and minds of young people into initiatives that can affect societal improvement.
Brightest Young Minds is an incubator for social entrepreneurship. It does this on two levels:
1. Through developing young leaders and equipping them to affect social change wherever they are
2. Through designing, developing and supporting projects that have a positive social impact.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxStellenbosch, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxStellenbosch event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
Indutech
Indutech is a business engineering company specialising in innovation
management. The company is made up of industrial engineers, software
developers and other innovative individuals who work towards creating
a competitive advantage for Indutech's clients.
The company has close ties with Stellenbosch University, local and international
research institutes and local and international businesses.
Van Pepper Wines
The
Van Pepper brand is the brainchild of my brother Van, from Van
Wealth Portfolio Management, and myself, and we have four sub-brands:
Van Pepper Productions, Van Pepper Designs, Van Pepper Events, and Van
Pepper Wines.
Van Pepper Wines
is a wine event marketing company. We conduct wine tastings at people's
offices or homes, and we organise wine events. We also source great wines
for our clients and in the future we'd like to produce our third partner's
wines on a small scale.
Stellenbosch Young Professionals Network
The
Stellenbosch Young Professionals
Network is a group for 20-35 year old professionals living and/or
working in Stellenbosch. SYPN gets together once a month to network,
socialise and share ideas.
The objective of the SYPN is to connect people, create a platform where
great business contacts can be made, and develop the skills and expertise
of its members.
